Aumaitre came to the Hawkeyes from New Jersey after dominating at the high school level. Unfortunately, that never translated to playing time with Iowa and he spent most of his collegiate career buried on the depth chart. However, he did not let that end his playing career. He joined the Harrisburg Stampede of the American Indoor Football Association in 2009 and became a team captain. After competing in an open tryout, he was signed by the Philadelphia Soul of the AFL for the 2011 season where he has played sparingly.
