Chandler came to Iowa, following in his older brother’s footsteps. He was able to play his first season with the Hawkeyes with Nathan as his quarterback. Unfortunately, he had no receptions his freshman year, so he was unable to make a unique mark on the program. However, Chandler went on to have a nice career as a Hawkeye and left Iowa as a 2nd Team All-Big Ten selection by the coaches. He was drafted by the San Diego Chargers in the 4th Round of the 2007 NFL Draft. He played in one game while he was with the Chargers but was cut before the 2009 season. He went to camp with the Dallas Cowboys and was signed to their practice squad. On December 23rd he was signed to the New York Giants roster, but did not appear in a game. In the offseason, Chandler resigned with the Giants on March 16th, 2010 to a one year contract but after failing to make the team after the preseason, Chandler returned to Dallas to rejoin their practice squad. That move paid off when he was activated before their Week 3 game against the Houston Texans. He played in most of the games before he was cut after their Week 12 loss to the Saints. However, Chandler wasn’t without a team for long, as the Buffalo Bills claimed him 2 days later. He recorded his first career catch in the Bills’ Week 15 game against the Dolphins. After preseason camp, Chandler was listed as the team’s starting Tight End. His 2011 stats:
