Shonn Greene lived the Cinderella story while at Iowa. Falling out of school with academic problems, he worked moving furniture while he got himself eligible to play again. He started his Junior year buried on the depth chart and emerged as the only Running Back in the country to rush for 100+ yards in every game of the season on his way to winning the Doak Walker Award in 2008. He was also a First Team All-Big Ten and First Team All-American in his junior year. He decided to leave school early and enter the 2009 NFL Draft where he was selected in the third round (65th overall) by the New York Jets. He started the season 3rd on the depth chart but moved up to 2nd after an injury opened the door for him to back-up Thomas Jones. The Jets clinched a playoff berth in Week 17, and Greene helped them along the way with 540 yards and 2 Touchdowns on 108 carries. The postseason was where Greene’s star shone brightest, as he ran 54 times for 304 yards and 2 touchdowns.  He proved to be an instrumental part of the Jets victories over the Bengals and Chargers.  However, Greene was injured during the AFC Conference Championship game against the Colts, a game which the Jets lost. Heading into the 2010 season, Greene was the starting Running Back and was expected to carry the load for the Jets in a year full of expectations. He mainly split time with a rejuvenated Ladainian Tomlinson and through the regular season he averaged 4.1 yards per carry after compiling 766 yards on 185 carries with 2 touchdowns. In the playoffs Greene again became a major contributor, racking up 198 yards on 45 carries with a touchdown to help the Jets beat the Colts & the Patriots before losing to the Steelers in the Conference Championship. His touchdown run against the Patriots clinched the victory over the Jets’ rival.
