Eric Steinbach – Cleveland Browns – Hawkeye (1999-2002)

December 29th, 2009

Steinbach was a 2x First Team All-Big Ten & a First Team All-American as an offensive lineman with the Hawkeyes. Then, with the 33rd pick in the 2003 NFL Draft, the Cincinnati Bengals selected Steinbach. That’s how it all started for who many consider to be one of the better Left Guards in the game. His endurance has been impressive while he has started all but one game in his career. He left the Bengals via Free Agency and signed what was one of the biggest Offensive Line contracts in the league when he signed with the Cleveland Browns. In 2008, he was named the first alternate at Guard for the Pro Bowl. His endurance reigned supreme as he started every game in the 2009 season. Heading into the 2010 regular season, Steinbach was listed as the starting Left Guard for the Browns once again. He started every game of the season. After the lockout ended and the 2011 preseason got underway, Steinbach injured his back and was forced to have surgery. That surgery led to him being placed on Injured Reserve before the season even started.
